Testimonials

India Roberts

Trinity Grade 7 Musical Theatre Student

'Emily Parker-Barratt is without doubt one of the most encouraging and inspiring drama teachers I have ever had. Her constantly positive attitude makes you look forward to her lessons and she always offers full support and individual guidance. Her skills as a teacher come from the fact that she is an incredibly talented and successful actress herself. The strong relationships she develops with her students make them feel so comfortable with her so they are able to seek help and achieve what they desire. Emily was my favourite teacher at school and I miss her lessons!'

Yasmin Adeniran

Trinity Grade 7 & 8 Communication Skills Student

'An absolute inspirational and passionate teacher. With no prior experience with acting or public speaking, Emily helped me achieve distinctions in both my grade 7 and 8 Trinity Communication Skills exams; but, more importantly, I’ve now developed, what can only be described as a love affair for debating and public speaking! Our lessons were always structured, with warm up breathing and vocal exercises at the beginning taken from her professional and personal experience, as well as tips that now help me with my university presentations. I was always provided with constructive criticisms, as Emily would never settle for anything but the best, which in turn meant I was constantly improving. My lessons with Emily were the highlight of my week and I will be forever grateful for my newfound passion that she’s ignited'

Letitia Harkness

RADA Shakespeare Certificate & Trinity Grade 8 Acting Student

'I was lucky enough to have Emily coach me through both my Trinity and RADA Shakespeare awards and without a doubt I would not have achieved success in both without her! There are few teachers that I have continued to receive guidance from since I’ve left school but Emily has been nothing but supportive and her coaching post-school was essential once I began the daunting process of drama school applications and auditions. I would definitely credit her as a big part of the reason for why I gained a place at ALRA. Her own experience within the industry as an actress makes her an invaluable mentor; not only from an acting perspective but also in terms of preparation for what life as an actress may entail. Her warm nature puts you at ease and creates an informal environment with which to push yourself and really achieve your potential. She totally invests in her students and I personally found that this filled me with great confidence as a young actress. To this day I still use her warm up techniques and greatly value her audition advice whenever going for a part!'

Rebecca Watson

Head of Speech & Drama at Downe House School

'Emily Parker-Barratt is an excellent Teacher of Speech of Drama, Musical Theatre and Communication Skills. With an exhilarating yet thorough approach, Emily’s lessons are always fun and engaging. She is fully committed to her students and never hesitates to go that “extra mile” to make sure that they achieve their best in examination. I would recommend her without hesitation.'
